Unplugged – MTV Unplugged Tribute Band

I had the pleasure last Friday to photograph a band hailing from Buffalo, NY called Unplugged. When I was searching for shows to do, I saw this group booked at Taffeta Music Hall and knew I had to reach out. This was exactly my kind of music. The night of the show was well set. The ambiance was low lit with flowers and LED candles everywhere. The stage was placed in front of a rock wall that was lit up in deep purple. It gave me the vibe of an acoustic type night. What we got was so much more. They played everything from Pearl Jam to Alanis Morrisette to Alice in Chains and Nirvana. They encouraged the crowd throughout the 3hrs they played to stand up and sing along. It was like we were back in the 90s. The band put their own twist on things. It wasn’t a straight up grunge or punk show and it was just acoustic (there was an acoustic guitar though) like I was thinking it might be. In stead it was a full band playing somewhere in between those styles. I stayed after the show to talk with the band, and they were just so nice, friendly and welcoming. I look forward to the day they return for another show.

Lastly, I was given my first press wristband. It was pretty awesome and I’m definitely saving it. I hope to add more to it soon.
